This project stands out as a designer home where the identities of the designer and the owner overlap, resulting in a space that reflects the true essence of the designer. Free from the need for aesthetic recognition or adherence to a particular style, this home is a place where the designer can truly be themselves.
With no restrictions on the use of materials and layout, the designer boldly experimented with various combinations, such as brass and logs, marble and glass. This fusion of materials adds interest and richness to the space, creating a unique and luxurious atmosphere.
The design approach follows a "people-oriented" principle, prioritizing the real experience of residents over complex formalism. Environmental protection materials are used to promote an eco-friendly lifestyle. The combination of different materials enhances the visual appeal and texture of the space, elevating the overall design.
Technical specifications include a fireplace with a diameter of 600 millimeters and a pipe length of 2000 millimeters. The design is characterized by its large flat layers, restrained yet luxurious aesthetic, vibrant colors, and innovative elements.
Guangzheng Li led the design team for this project, which started in April 2021 and was completed in September 2021 in Nanjing. The design process involved extensive research to explore the combination of materials and create a space that exudes high-level texture and emotional depth.
The main challenge faced during the design process was the integration of multiple materials. However, through creative problem-solving and meticulous attention to detail, the team successfully achieved a harmonious blend of brass and wood, marble and glass, and other combinations.
By integrating minimalism and artistic ideas, the design strikes a balance between functionality and aesthetics, resulting in a warm and inviting living space. The furniture and accessories are carefully selected to complement the owner's temperament and personality, adding a touch of cleverness and infinite possibilities to the space.
This design was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2023. The award recognizes designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving the quality of life through the incorporation of art, science, design, and technology.
